When you're planning a trip or your schedule gets hectic, it’s important to know your pup is in good hands. With our Home Dog Boarding services, your furry friend enjoys a safe, comfy, one-on-one environment while you’re away. We don’t just give them a place to stay—we make sure they feel happy, social, and loved! Discovering what home dog boarding offers can help you choose the perfect care for your special little darlin’.
Why Choose Home Dog Boarding?
Our home dog boarding service is here to provide your dog with the caring, personalised attention it deserves. You can rest assured that your furry friend will receive plenty of love, exercise, and good nutrition in a warm, welcoming home environment.
Kennels can be loud and unfamiliar, which might be unsettling for some dogs. Not all kennels are part of someone’s property, so there may not be anyone on site overnight, which might not be suitable for many dogs.
Many pet owners find that home boarding is a wonderful choice over kennels because it provides a cosy, personalised experience for your dog right in a home setting. This can really help your dog feel less stressed and lower the chances of getting sick. Some of the great benefits include more one-on-one attention, maintaining a familiar routine, and being exposed to fewer other animals than in a typical kennel environment.
My home boarding services have emergency protocols and veterinary contacts, giving you peace of mind.

Benefits of home boarding
There are several significant benefits to using professional home dog boarding services. These advantages go beyond kennels and contribute to your dog’s overall health and happiness.
Reduces stress: The home environment is generally less stressful for dogs than a kennel, which can be overwhelming with new sounds, smells, and many other animals.
Personalised attention: A dog receives more individual care, attention, and affection, as the carer is not responsible for a large number of dogs at once.
Consistent routine: Home boarding allows for a care routine that is more similar to the dog's home life, including feeding and exercise schedules, which can help them settle in more quickly.
Lower risk of illness: With fewer animals and less confinement, the risk of a dog contracting contagious diseases is lower.
More freedom: Dogs can roam freely in our house and garden, rather than being confined to a small kennel space for most of the day.
Peace of Mind for our Clients

Why is home boarding more expensive than kennels?
With home boarding, many factors go into pricing.
Insurance - every home boarding service must have insurance. This covers accidents and any damage in the home, etc.
Hygiene - DEFRA-approved cleaning products are to be used to prevent disease and infection.
Toys - Toys of various sizes and enrichment activities are always provided (if stated otherwise).
Treats - Due to having an array of different diets for different dogs, we provide treats that are suitable for all.
Walks or Dog field hire - We provide plenty of outdoor fun.
Safe Carriage - Providing and maintaining a safe vehicle for your dogs when transported.
Licensing - All home boarders have to be licensed, which is costly. The number of stars you are rated depends on the standard you have set and how the council grades you. With a 5-star rating from Cambridgeshire County Council for Home Boarding, we set our standards very high for all our clients.
Around-the-clock care for any dog that is within our home.
One-to-one care and becoming a part of our family, you can't put a cost on. Day trips and other fun activities.

My family owned kennels years ago, before home boarding, and daycare was a thing. It was standard practice for any dog to go to a kennel when owners wanted to travel or had other commitments. The relationship between dogs and their owners has changed significantly since then. Now we see our pets as family members rather than just household pets, which is why I offer these services. I wouldn't want my own dogs to go into kennels, as I know they wouldn't cope well in that environment. Some dogs adapt well, and kennels have also improved greatly in terms of care and facilities over the years.
Home-from-home boarding is certainly more personal and attentive to each dog's needs, and that is what we aim to continue achieving.
So when comparing the cost of a kennel to home boarding, you can now see what you pay for!
